Miss Independent

For this tutorial you will need the following:

Paint Shop Pro, I am using PSP X, you should be able to use any version.

Tube of choice, I am using the artwork of Keith Garvey which you need a license to use. I bought mine at PTE, but it is now closed and he has his own site.

Scrap kit of choice. I am using Miss Independent, a PTU kit by Pimp'd Designz. It's part of a collab, so
I"m linking you to the page that has all 4 kits.

Font of choice, I am using Stars & Stripes

Plugins: No outside plugins

Just remember that my choices of papers and elements is just a suggestion, change it up and make it yours! You don't have to follow mine exactly.

Add a drop shadow of your choosing to tubes & elements throughout. I usually use 1, 1, 50, 5 unless otherwise noted.

Let's get started!

Open a new canvas 850 x 850 with a white background.

Open frame 2, copy and paste as a new layer.
Take your magic wand and click inside the left side of the frame and in between the frame and the safety pin at the top, selections, modify, expand 2, selections, invert.

Open paper 3, copy and paste as a new layer, arrange in the frame, selections, invert, click delete on the keyboard.

Do the same for the right side using paper 1.

Open your tube, copy and paste as a new layer, arrange over the frame.
I then took my eraser tool with the hardness set at about 10 and erased part of her legs.
It helps to soften the edge and make it easier to hide where her legs are cut off
under the other elements or text. I just don't like the abrupt ending of the legs in some tubes and like to hide it.

Now we'll add our elements. Check my tag for placement.
Swirl 1, resize 50% arrange on the right, duplicate, mirror
Firework 2, arrange directly behind the frame & papers
Firework 1 resize 50%, duplicate, resize 75%
Firecracker, resize 50%, rotate left 30
Ribbon 3, resize 50%
Stars 1, resize 30%

Crop, resize
add your copyright and credits
needed and your text then save
