Beach Party Alena

For this tutorial you will need the following:

Paint Shop Pro, I am using PSP X, you should be able to use any version.

Tube of choice, I am using the artwork of Ninaste at Beehive Studio (Alena) which you need a license to use.  This beautiful tube has 2 types of layers, a set of mermaid layers and a set of layers with legs so you can use her as a girl or a mermaid!

Scrap kit of choice. I am using a PTU kit, Beachy Alena by Tiny Turtle Designs

Font of choice, I am using Akhenaton

Mask: Horse Play's Pasture Mask 11
Plugins: No outside plugins used
I do use Eye Candy 4000 Gradient Glow on all my copyrights/credits layers
I do this because some forums will make a .png tag show up with a black background and then your
copyright doesn't show.

Just remember that my choices of papers and elements is just a suggestion, change it up and make it yours! You don't have to follow mine exactly.

Add a drop shadow of your choosing to tubes & elements throughout. I usually use 1, 1, 50, 5 unless otherwise noted.

Let's get started!

Open a new canvas 850 x 950 pixels with a white background

Copy and paste your tube as a new layer, resize by 40%

open element 109 copy and paste as a new layer resize 115%
click inside with your magic wand, selections, modify, expand 2, selections, invert
open paper 41 copy and paste as a new layer
click delete on your keyboard,

Open another layer of your tube, mirror it, copy and paste as a new layer, arrange in the left side of the frame, click delete on your keyboard, duplicate it, mirror it and drag it around to arrange in the right side of the frame
Change the blend mode to Luminance(L) and drop the opacity to about 75

Hide all layers but the tubes in the frame, the frame, and the background paper, merge visible
then unhide  the other layers

Now we'll add our elements. You can check my example tag for placement if you need to

element 1 arrange below the tube layer duplicate & mirror
element 31 arrange on left to fill in the gap between the other two sand layers, merge all the sand together
element 100 arrange on the right side of the frame
element 125 rotate left by 10 arrange on the left side of frame

element 121 resize  55% arrange behind and to the left of the tube, duplicate & mirror it
duplicate it again, resize it 75% and arrange in the center of the frames behind the tube

element 110 resize  25% arrange by the flowers
element 136 resize  60% arrange between the tree & frame on the right side
element 138 resize  60% arrange on the left side
