Sweet Liberty

For this tutorial you will need the following:

Paint Shop Pro, I am using PSP X7, you should be able to use any version.

Tube of choice, I am using the artwork of Alicia Mujica, Anne Marie tube, which you need a license to use.  
This is a unique tube, which has both a front and back view of the tube when you buy her.

Scrap kit of choice. I am using the matching kit, Independence Day, also by Alicia Mujica.   

Font of choice, I am using Silver Charm

Mask: Vix Big Mask 1

Plugins: Xero Porcelain




Just remember that my choices of papers and elements is just a suggestion, 

change it up and make it yours! You don't have to follow mine exactly.

Add a drop shadow of your choosing to tubes & elements throughout. 

I usually use 1, 1, 50, 5 unless otherwise noted.
 

Let's get started!

Open a new canvas 900 x 900 pixels with a white background

Open your frame 3, copy and paste as a new layer, resize 50%

Take your eraser tool and erase one of the two frames on the outside edges. I erased the 

one on the right. Go to objects, align, center in canvas.

click inside with your magic wand, selections, modify, expand 2, selections, invert
open both copies of your tube copy and paste one as a new layer, arrange in a frame,  

click delete on your keyboard, do the same with the other tube in the other side of the frame.
Deselect, then with your eraser tool, erase where the tube shows on the opposite side.
Merge these two layers together, duplicate
On the top layer, adjust, blur, gaussian blur 10, change blend mode to soft light on your
layer pallet
On the bottom layer, apply Xero Porcelain settings 50, 50, 128, 0. 0. 255 

Copy and paste your tube as a new layer, resize by 30%, arrange on your canvas 
just left of the center

Add the following elements
Garden 3 resize 30% then 50% arrange below the tube layer on left
Cluster 2, resize 50% twice, mirror, arrange below the tube layer on right

Duplicate the garden 3 layer, resize 60%, mirror, duplicate again. Arrange one above the 
tube layer on the right, and one on the left
Label 5a, resize 65%, arrange just above white background layer, centered behind frame

Add a new raster layer above the white background, flood fill with #145fa5

Open your mask, layers, new mask layer, with image, and find your mask in the drop down 

box and apply. Merge group, resize 75%


crop and resize
add your copyright and credits as needed
add your text and save

Liberty Facebook Timeline Set

For this tutorial you will need the following:

Let's get started!

We're going to make a timeline and avatar for facebook. If you want a tag set for a forum, just

change the sizes of the canvas to fit your group sizes. You may have to make the elements

resized at different amounts to make it all fit how you'd like, but just play around with it 

Open a  new canvas 851 x 315 pixels with a white background

Flood fill background with #3a5f7d

Copy and paste your tube as a new layer, resize 80%

Open corner ribbons, copy and paste as a new layer, resize 30%, arrange on the bottom left side

Duplicate your tube, on the top layer, adjust blur, gaussian 10, set opacity to soft light

On the bottom tube layer, use Xero Porcelain, 50, 128, 128, 0, 0, 255

Crop your image, on the white background layer,

selections, select all, float, defloat, contract 10, selections, invert

Add a new raster layer at the top, flood fill #c92d26

Selections, modify, contract 5, add a new raster layer on top of the previous one, 

flood fill with white, deslect

Open a new canvas 200 x 200 pixels

copy and paste your background

merge tube layers together, copy and paste. 

Crop image,

add a frame the same way we did for the banner, except change amount to contract to 7.

I didn't do the white inside this frame

add your copyright and credits as needed
add your text and save

Open frame 4 copy and paste as a new layer, resize 85%

click inside with your magic wand, selections, modify, expand 2, selections, invert
open paper 4b copy and paste as a new layer, resize 50%, click delete on your keyboard

Copy and paste your front facing tube as a new layer, arrange in your frame, 
press delete on your keyboard, drop the opacity around 65

Copy and paste your back facing tube as a new layer, resize 45%, 
erase the bits that hang out of your frame where you don't want them





Now we'll add the elements

cluster 3 resize 30% arrange at the bottom
duplicate your tube, drag above cluster, take your eraser tool and erase the bits
that cover the flowers, except her hair

balloons resize 20% arrange below and right of tube layer
stars resize 25% arrange above white background, duplicate & mirror, arrange on left,
duplicate mirrored copy, drag up. Merge these 3 layers together, duplicate,
drag to the right. Erase the extras that hang too far to the side

crop and resize
add your copyright and credits as needed
add your text and save

Open your template, shift D to duplicate and close the original
Delete the following layers: Raster 3, Raster 12

I resized the canvas by 800 x 800 pixels to make a little working room.

Fill the layers with papers, to do this make sure the layer you want to fill has been clicked on in your layer palette.
Click inside the shape with your magic wand, selections, modify, invert, open your paper, copy and paste as a new layer,
click delete on your keyboard.
Delete the original template layer

Some layers you may just want to flood fill with a color from your kit. To do this, click on the layer in your layer palette, add another raster layer above it,
click inside the shape with your magic wand, and flood fill it with your color
Delete the original template layer

Fill the following layers with papers or colors (I listed them in order from the bottom up)

Raster 2 use paper 78

Copy of Raster 2  use paper 78

(Dark Grey Rectangles) Merged use paper 12

(Light grey rectangles) Merged use paper 16, add noise using the following settings:

add/remove noise, add noise, random, monochrome, 50

(Stars) Merged use paper 10 add a gradient glow, width 3 in white

Raster 5 use paper 34

Raster 11 use paper leave as is

Raster 7 use paper 28

Raster 8 use paper 28

Raster 9 use paper 28

Raster 4 use paper 16 add the same noise settings to this layer

Copy and paste your tube as a new layer, resize by 55% arrange in the center of the template
 

 Add the following elements:

element 32 resize 20% arrange on top right

element 24 resize  25% arrange by the tube's feet, arrange below the tube layer, duplicate

drag the duplicate above the tube layer, and erase the parts that go over the tube's feet

This way it looks like it's behind her legs, but in front of her seat.

For this tutorial you will need the following:

The tube I am using out of this pack of tubes is USA Lolly. There are 3 different tubes in this pack and each one has several layers with different options on their clothing.

This kit was made to match all of the 4th of July tubes at Beehive Studios. You can use it with them or any other 4th of July tube you might have.

Patriot

For this tutorial you will need the following:

Paint Shop Pro, I am using PSP X, you should be able to use any version.

This tube is called USA Pearl and she's a special layer of Black Pearl tube. For a limited time, you spend

at least $3 in the store and you can get her free!

Scrap kit of choice. I am using a PTU kit, Patriotic Pearl by Tiny Turtle Designs which was made to 

match this layer of the tube.

Font of choice, I am using Keyboard Patriot, I set the background red, foreground white with stroke

set on 2 for my name text

Change the canvas size to 950 x 850 to give yourself some room to work

Fill the layers with papers, to do this make sure the layer you want to fill has been clicked on in your layer palette.

click delete on your keyboard.
Delete the original template layer

Some layers, you may just want to flood fill with a color from your kit. To do this, click on the layer in your layer palette, add another raster layer above it,

Copy and paste your tube as a new layer, resize by 50%, arrange on the right

 Now add the following elements:

element 121 resize  50 arrange to the right of your tube

erase where his feet look like they're standing on her shoes

element 32 resize  45% rotate right 90 arrange behind the tube on the bottom right

element 30 resize  35% arrange above the blue heart

 element 20 resize  25% arrange on the left side of the template's star layer

element 36 arrange on left, duplicate & drag duplicate to the right

element 75 resize  45% arrange on top right, duplicate a few times and arrange around the tag

element 83 resize  35% arrange below USA & Statue Of Liberty

element 11 resize  15% arrange just to the left of the tube on the bottom

element 12 resize  20% arrange behind and to the left of the other cupcake

Independence

For this tutorial you will need the following:

Paint Shop Pro, I am using PSP X, you should be able to use any version.

Tube of choice, I am using the artwork of Keith Garvey (All American Girl)  which you need a license to use. 

Scrap kit of choice. I am using  a PTU kit, Independence Day by Graphics Of Fantasy

available at Graphics of Fantasy Store and at PicsForDesign

Font of choice, I am using Politician

Mask: WSL84 by Weescotslass Creations, the links to the masks are on the right sidebar just a little bit down the page

Plugins: No outside plugins used
I do use Eye Candy 4000 Gradient Glow on all my copyrights/credits layers
I do this because some forums will make a .png tag show up with a black background and then your
copyright doesn't show.



Just remember that my choices of papers and elements is just a suggestion, change it up and make it yours! You don't have to follow mine exactly.

Add a drop shadow of your choosing to tubes & elements throughout. I usually use 1, 1, 50, 5 unless otherwise noted.


Let's get started!

Open a new canvas 850 x 850 pixels with a white background

Add the following elements:

element 25 move it almost to the top

element 24 arrange on top of the city layer, to the right side

element 26 arrange on the left between the other two layers

element 59 resize 40% arrange between the Mt. Rushmore (heads) and the city on the right,

duplicate, mirror, drag back over to the right, and put the layer behind the city layer

element 26 resize  30% arrange on top right

element 22 resize  75% arrange on bottom left

element 68 resize  55% arrange on top left behind city layer

element 33 resize  30% arrange to the right of the car

element 29 resize  27% arrange in the back car window

element 56 resize  60% arrange on bottom right

Copy and paste your tube, arrange between the city and Mt. Rushmore layer

Copy & paste paper 5 above the white background layer

then apply your mask

duplicate & drag the duplicate to the left & merge

crop and resize
add your copyright and credits as needed
add your text and save
