Love Spring

For this tutorial you will need the following:

Paint Shop Pro, I am using PSP X, you should be able to use any version.

Tube of choice, I am using the artwork of Tony Tzanoukakis which you need a license to use.

Scrap kit of choice. I am using Turtle Crush, a PTU kit by Alika's Scraps

Font of choice, I am using

Mask 75 from Designs by Mindy Mae, you'll find the links on the right hand side of the blog

Plugins: Xero Porcelain

Add a drop shadow of your choosing to tubes & and elements throughout. I usually use 1, 1, 50, 5 unless otherwise noted.

Let's get started!

Open a new canvas 850 x 850 with a white background.

Open as15, resize 80%, copy and paste as a new layer,

click inside it with your magic wand, selections, modify, expand by 3,

open paper 4, copy and paste as a new layer, click delete on your keyboard, 

drag this layer below the frame layer. Leave selected.

Open your tube, copy and paste as a new layer, arrange in the frame, 

click delete on your keyboard and deselect.

Duplicate your tube, on the top layer, adjust blur, gaussian 3, change the blend mode to soft light.

On the bottom layer, adjust Hue & Saturation, change both to 0

Apply Xero Porcelain with preset settings, except change the blue to 0.

Hide your white background layer, merge visible, then unhide the background again.

Add the following elements as described, see tag also for placement

as03 resize 70% arrange on bottom left, under the chair layer, duplicate and mirror

as53 resize by 60% arrange in between the two flower images you just added above

duplicate and drag to the far left

as9, arrange on the right, duplicate and drag one of the layers up a little higher so the grass looks taller.  

as63, arrange on the right, below the grass

as64 arrange on the left below the frame

as67, resize by 50%, mirror, arrange on the bottom right

as65, resize by 55% arrange on the right over the grass

as66 resize by 55% arrange on the right side over the grass

Continue resizing 65 and 66 and arranging along the right side until it's to your liking while adding 

other elements in on that side.

as28, resized by 40% and arranged on the right side under the other flowers

as52 resized by 45 arranged on the right side

as53 Resized by 35% arranged on the right

as76, resized by 30, arrange on the right in flowers

as11, resized by 75% arranged on the right side in the flowers

as76, resized by 55% rotate to the right 25 arrange on right side

as62, arrange along top below the frame layer

as50, take your eraser tool and erase the top section of hearts, arrange what is left over the clouds, below the frame layer

as 71, arrange on the bottom right

Copy and paste your main tube, resize if needed, arrange where you like it

as31, arrange on left top, duplicate, mirror, bring the copy back to the left side and arrange below the original

as11, resized 65% arrange on left over leaves

as2, resize 75% rotate left 20 arrange on bottom left

as43, resize by 60, mirror and arrange on bottom left

as54, arrange along bottom

Make your background layer active, by clicking on it in the layer pallet.

Open paper 5, copy and paste as a new layer.

Apply your mask by opening it in PSP 

(I don't install all my masks, I just keep them in a separate folder and open them in psp to use them, just like we open our scrap kit files so that it doesn't bog down psp)

once you open your mask, go to layers, new mask layer, from image

find your mask in the drop down box and click it, then click ok. 

Then go in your layers pallet and click on the mask and click delete, 

answer yes to the pop up, then click on the mask layer and choose merge group.

Crop and resize your image,

add your copyrights and credits and text then save.

Springtime Bunny

For this tutorial you will need the following:

Paint Shop Pro, I am using PSP X, you should be able to use any version.

Tube(s) of choice, I am using the artwork of Ismael Rac which you need a license to use.

Scrap kit of choice. I am using Springtime by Alika's Scraps. It's a mix n match collab kit that also has two other parts to it that you can buy separately or all 3 together at a bundled price. You can find them all HERE.

For this tut, I just used the portion by Alika's Scraps.

Let's get started!

Open a new canvas 850 x 850, white background.

Open as10, copy and paste as a new layer, resize by 75%,

click inside it with your magic wand, selections, modify, expand by 3, selections, invert.

Open paper 1, copy and paste as a new layer,

drag it below the frame layer, click delete on your keyboard.

Leave selected. Open your first tube, copy and paste as a new layer, resize if necessary, arrange in the frame, click delete on your keyboard. Deselect

Duplicate your tube, on the top layer, go to adjust blur, gaussian by 3, change the blend mode to soft light.

On the bottom layer, go to adjust, hue and saturation, set both to 0.

Hide the white background layer, merge visible. Make the background layer visible again.

Duplicate the framed layer that you just merged.

On the bottom layer, rotate left by 20.

Resize by 80% and drag over to the left slightly.

Open your main tube, copy and paste as a new layer, resize if needed (Mine was resized by 50%)

Arrange to the right side.

Add your elements. See my tag for placement reference

as21 (hat) resize 45%

as11 (leaves) rotate right 90, resize by 45%, duplicate, mirror, and arrange both on left side

as06, resize by 20%

as19, resize 30%

as12, resize 40%

as25, resize 30%

as24, resized 40%

To make the background, I merged the two frame layers together, then duplicate.

on the bottom layer, adjust, blur, gaussian 25. Drag that over to the left a bit, then duplicate and mirror.

Merge these two together. Then duplicate and flip, then merge those two together.

Crop and resize.

Add your copyright and credits as needed

Your name or text and save.

Charming Spring

For this tutorial you will need the following:

Paint Shop Pro, I am using PSP X, you should be able to use any version.

Tube of choice, I am using the artwork of Ismael Rac which you need a license to use.

Scrap kit of choice. I am using Charming, a PTU kit by Pimp'd Designz.

Rectangle template 3 by Melissa's Creations which you can find on the Creative Misfits blog.

Font of choice, I am using Riesling

Plugins: Xero Porcelain

Let's get started!

Open your template, shift D to duplicate, close the original.
Delete Raster 5
Resize to 650 x 650 pixels
Change canvas size to 850 x 850 pixels
Add a new layer, drag it to the bottom and flood fill with white.

Fill each of the layers of the template with your papers. Do this by clicking on the template layer with your magic wand, then selections, invert, copy and paste the paper as a new layer, then click delete on your keyboard. Deselect and delete the original layer of the template.
The raster 2 layer is not going to work very well clicking with the magic wand, so instead, go to selections, select all, float, defloat, invert, then do as instructed above.

Make the front square layer active, selections, select all, float, invert,
open your tube, copy and paste as a new layer, resize if needed, arrange in the square,
click delete on your keyboard. Deselect and duplicate.
On the top tube layer, adjust, blur, gaussian 3, set the blend mode to soft light.
On the bottom layer, adjust, hue & saturation, change both to 0.
Apply Xero Porcelain with the default settings, except change the blue to 0.

Open your main tube, copy and paste as a new layer, resize if needed, I resized mine by 55%
Arrange on the tag to the left.

Add any elements you'd like to the tag,
I used:
Print02, used as a mask, turn to right 90 and drag down just above the white background layer.
I also dropped the opacity to about 70.

Button 2, rotate right by 3 resize by 50%
Ribbon 4, resize by 30%
Ribbon3, resize 65%, rotate left 12
Peace charm, resize 45%
Flower 2, resized 25%
Flower Charm, resize 70%

crop, resize, add copyrights and credits as needed
add your name and save

Hop It 3 piece forum set

For this tutorial you will need the following:

Paint Shop Pro, I am using PSP X, you should be able to use any version.

For the main tag

Open a new canvas 750 x 750 white background

Open print 3, copy and paste as a new layer onto your canvas.

Open Vintage Card, copy and paste as a new layer, resize by 50%, then
rotate left by 30

Open print 2, copy and paste as a new layer, position near the bottom of the tag.
Duplicate and resize by 60%

Open your tube, copy and paste as a new layer, resize if needed, I resized mine by 50%

Copy and paste basket, resize by 40%

Hat, copy and paste, resize by 40%

Rabbit, copy and paste as a new layer, resize by 50%

Bird, copy and paste as a new layer, resize by 30%

Crop and resize.

Add your name, copyrights and credits as needed and save.



Now for the forum tag:
Open a new canvas 600 x 250
Open a paper and paste as a new layer.

Now copy your various tag elements to the forum tag.

Make the background layer active, click on your crop tool and then at the top click "snap crop rectangle to" and double click on the tag.

Now selections, select all, modify, set selection borders, set it at 3 and click ok.

Add a new raster layer at the top of your tag, flood fill with a complementary color. I used #f455f4 from my tube, then deselect.

Add your name, copyrights and credits as needed and save

For the avatar

Open a new canvas 150 x 150, white background.

Copy and paste elements from your forum tag as you want them.

Once done, make a border just like you did on the forum tag by going to selections, select all, modify, set selection borders, set at 3, ok it, then add a new layer at the top of your tag layers and flood fill with the color you used on the forum tag.

Add your name, copyright and credits as needed and save.

Not a Hipster

For this tutorial you will need the following:

Tube of choice, I am using the artwork of Arthur Crowe, which you need a license to use.  The tube I am using for this tut is a sneak peak tube for Arthur that will be available soon in his store, around April 1, 2013 and it comes with the April 2013 desktop wallpaper.

Scrap kit of choice. I am using My Little Hipster, a PTU kit by Pimp'd Designz.

Open your template, shift D to duplicate, close the original. 

Delete Raster 1 layer.

I resized mine to 650x650 pixels then changed the canvas size to 850x850, just to give room to work.

Fill the layers of the template by clicking on them with your magic wand, then go to selections, invert, open your paper, copy and paste as a new layer, then click delete on your keyboard, deselect, and delete the original template layer.

On the frame layers that have noise on them, you won't be able to just click with your magic wand, so make that layer active, the go to selections, select all, float, defloat, then invert and do as above with your papers to fill.

Once you get done filling the layers with papers, 

click on the small square shapes in the front, selections, select all, float, invert, open your close up 

tube, copy and paste as a new layer, arrange in the box, click delete on your keyboard and deselect.

Lower the opacity of the tubes to about 60.

Open your main tube, copy and place as a new layer, resize if needed (I resized mine by 78%)

and arrange on your tag.

Add any elements you'd like. I used

cardboard, rotate to the right by 45

Print01, place on right side under all the layers, duplicate, mirror

Button, resize by 45%, duplicate a couple times and arrange on tag

Ribbon 3, resize by 25%, arrange over one or more of the buttons

Camera, resized 25%

String 2, resized 50%

Flower 2, resized 25%

String 1 resized 45%

Glasses resized 20%

Crop, resize,

add your copyrights and credits as needed

add your name and save!

Spring Dreams

For this tutorial you will need the following:

Open your template, shift D to duplicate it.

Delete raster 15 layer that has the credits on it.

I resized mine to 600 x 600 pixels then changed the canvas size to 800 x 800 and flood filled the background layer white just to have extra room to work and the white background to see it better. You can do this or skip that step.

Fill each of the layers of the template with papers from the kit by making each layer active, clicking on it with your magic wand, selections, invert, open the paper you want, copy and paste as a new layer, arrange it, then click delete on your keyboard. Then deselect the layer (selections, select none) and then delete the template layer from your tag leaving just the papers that you filled the layers with.

Add any elements you'd like. I used:

Grass - place along the bottom of the template

Flower 8, resize by 45%, place along bottom right side of grass,
duplicate, mirror, place behind and slightly above the first flower layer.
See tag for placement.

Flower 11, resize by 90%, place along right side of template.

Flower 7, resize by 60%, arrange on top left of template above the other flowers.
Duplicate and mirror

Open your tube, copy and paste as a new layer, resize if needed. Arrange on the hill of grass.
Apply Xero Porcelain with default settings but change blue to zero

butterfly 2, resize by 45%, arrange on the top left side of tag

Flower 9, resize 25%, arrange on bottom left over the bottom of the flower vine.

Flower 3, resize by 25%, arrange on bottom left, drag layer below flower 9

Sparkles 1, copy and paste as a new layer, drag the layer down so it's behind the tubes but above the other layers.

Butterfly 1, copy and paste as a new layer, resize by 25% arrange on the right above the flowers (see tag for placement)

Butterfly 6, copy and paste as a new layer, mirror, resize by 50%, sharpen, arrange on the vine of the flowers on the left side.

Crop your tag if needed, resize, add your credits and copyright info and your name, then save.

Forever Beautiful

For this tutorial you will need the following:

Open your template, delete the credits layer.

Fill the layers of the template using your papers by clicking on the layer with your magic wand,
go to layers, modify, invert, copy and paste the paper as a new layer and
click delete on your keyboard. Deselect, and delete the original template layer.

Open forever love window 1, copy and paste as a new layer
Use your selection tool set on circle, left click in the middle of the love window 1, and hold down
the mouse and pull out until the dotted line goes out as far as the silver border.
Open your tube, copy and paste as a new layer, arrange in the window, selections, invert, click delete on your keyboard
open a paper copy and paste and arrange below the tube, click delete on your keyboard.
resize by about 40%
Rotate to the right by 25, arrange on the top left of tag.

Open your tube, copy and paste as a new layer, resize as needed, arrange on your tag

Add any elements you'd like. I used the following:
Key, resized 60%
Rose, resize 45% rotate 90 to left
Hearts notes swirl, resize 75% rotate left 25
raven, resize 25%

Make a new layer just above the white background, flood fill with a gradient of your choice.
Open your mask, go to layers, new mask layer, from image, find your mask in the drop down box and click it, click ok. Go to your layer palette, click on the mask and delete. Merge group.

50 Shades of Garvey

For this tutorial you will need the following:

frame layer, selections, invert, click delete on your keyboard.

Open your close up tube, copy and paste as a new layer, arrange in the frame, click delete on your keyboard. Deselect.

Duplicate, on the top layer, adjust blur, gaussian by 3, change the blend mode to soft light.

On the bottom layer apply Xero Porcelain with the default settings, except change the blue to zero.

Add your elements. I used the following:

Birdcage

Feather

Branch 3

Button 1

Open your paper, copy and paste as a new layer, just above the white background layer.

Open your mask, apply it by going to Layers, New Mask Layer, From Image, find the mask in the drop down box, click ok.

Go to the layer palette, click on the mask layer, click delete, merge group.

Crop, resize, add credits and copyright info as needed.

Add your name and save.

Spring Breezy

For this tutorial you will need the following:

Open your template, shift D to duplicate. Delete the top layer, flood fill the next layer and send it to the bottom so you have a white background to work on. (That layer was empty)

Image resize to about 650 on the widest side, then image canvas size to about 850x850 or 800x800, just so we have some room to work.

Fill all the layers of the template by clicking inside them with your magic wand, then going to selections, modify, invert, then copy and pasting the paper and clicking delete on your keyboard.

On the borders, they have noise added to them so instead of using your magic wand, go to selections, select all, float, invert, then copy and paste and click delete.

Deselect after doing each layer then delete the original template layers.

Open one of your tubes. on the oval in the middle, selections, select all, float, invert, copy and paste the tube

arrange in the oval, erase the bits that hang out of the bottom. Deselect.

Add any elements you'd like. I used:

Print, duplicate, merge down. Duplicate, mirror and flip

Greens 02

Flower 4, resize 50%

Fower 3, resize 50%

Flower 2, resize 50%

Flower 1, resize 50%

Butterfly01, resize 35%

bird, resize 35%

Crop, resize if needed, add credits and copyright info.

Add your name and save.

Lucky Day

For this tutorial you will need the following:

Paint Shop Pro, I am using PSP X, you should be able to use any version.

Open a new canvas about 750 x 750 with a white background.

Open frame 1, copy and paste as a new layer, resize by 70%.

Click inside each of the squares with the magic wand, selections, modify, expand by 2.

Open paper 12, copy and paste as a new layer, drag below the frame layer, selections, 

invert, click delete on your keyboard. Leave selected.

Open several tubes, resize as needed, copy and paste them into the frames, click delete on your keyboard.

Once you're done, deselect, then go in and erase the bits of tubes that overlap into some of the other squares in the frames that you may not want showing. 

Hide the white background layer, merge visible, add a drop shadow, unhide your background.

Duplicate the frames layer, on the top layer, adjust blur, gaussian by 3, change the opacity to soft light.

Apply Xero Porcelain using the default settings

Open frame 4, resize by about 70%, click inside with your magic wand, 

selections, modify, expand by 2.

Open paper 10, copy and paste as a new layer, selections, invert, click delete on your keyboard, 

leave selected, open your main tube, copy and paste as a new layer, resize,

erase the bits that hang over where you don't want them.

Apply Porcelain on the round frame and the tube using the same steps we used on the frame layer.

Place elements on tag however you'd like.

I used the following and I also added Porcelain to each of them as in the other steps.

Pot of Gold, resized 25%

Hat, resized 25%

wa-1, resized  65%

staple, resized 80%, then duplicated & resized 75%

Shamrock resize 35%, duplicate, resize by 65%

Glitter placed between white frame and background of round frame

Crop, resize, add credits and copyright info & your name, then save.

So Lucky

For this tutorial you will need the following:

Let's get started!

Open your template, shift +D to duplicate it and close the original.

Image, canvas size, change to 850 x 850 just to give yourself some extra space to work, and we'll crop it down at the end.

Delete the credits layer, unhide the white background layer to make it easier to see what you're doing.

Make the glitter oval layer active, selections, select all, float, selections, invert.

Open paper 9, copy and paste as a new layer, click delete on your keyboard,

deselect and delete the original layer.

Make the oval layer active, click inside it with your magic wand. Open paper 4, 

copy and paste as a new layer, selections, invert, click delete on your keyboard, deselect,

delete the original layer.

Fill the other layers doing the same as above.

When you do the circle layers, leave selected after filling with paper, and copy and paste a tube into the circle.

Play around with the opacity settings til you get something you like. I changed mine to Luminance(L) and lowered the opacity to about 80

Add any elements you'd like and resize as needed. 

I used:

Beads, resized 65% duplicated & mirrored

Rainbow 2, resized 45%

Leaves 3, resized 60%

Shamrock, resized 27%

Add a new raster layer, just above the white background layer, flood fill with a color from 

your tube or your kit.

Open your mask and apply it by going to Layers,

New Mask Layer, from image, find it in the drop down box, click ok.

Go to your layer palette and delete the mask, click yes to the pop up. 

Merge the group.

Crop and resize your tag.

Add your credits and copyright info & your name, then save!
