Spring Blooms

For this tutorial you will need the following:

Paint Shop Pro, I am using PSP X, you should be able to use any version.

Tube of choice, I am using the artwork of Dean Yeagle which you need a license to use.
He is currently at CDO, but when I got my tube, he was at CILM

Scrap kit of choice. I am using Spring Blooms by Bookworm Dezines, available at Scrap Candy.

Summertime Template 1BD by Brutal Designs, it's the second link down the page. It will say "2013 Summertime Templates" not the grey toned templates at the top.

Font of choice, I am using Say Something

Mask: gemsmasks21 from Gems Taggin Scraps

Plugins: No outside plugins

Just remember that my choices of papers and elements is just a suggestion, change it up and make it yours! You don't have to follow mine exactly.

Add a drop shadow of your choosing to tubes & elements throughout. I usually use 1, 1, 50, 5 unless otherwise noted.

Let's get started!

Open your template, shift D to duplicate

Delete the copyright layer

Resize the whole thing by 80%

change canvas size to 850 x 850 and flood fill the background layer white

Fill the layers with papers, to do this make sure the layer you want to fill has been clicked on in your layer palette.
Click inside the shape with your magic wand, selections, modify, invert, open your paper, copy and paste as a new layer,
click delete on your keyboard.
Delete the original template layer

Any layer that has a gradient will need to be selected in the following way,
make the layer active in your layer palette,
selections, select all, float, defloat, invert, then fill with papers as above

I used the following papers on each layer

Gradient square use paper 4
Grey square use paper 14
grey oval use paper 6 resized 80%
beige circle paper 16
teal circle use paper 8
gradient rectangle use paper 1

Open your tube, copy and paste as a new layer, erase any bits that hang over where you don't want

Add your elements, check my tag for exact placement:
Element 40
element 31, resize 45%
element 29 resize 45%
element 30 resize 30% duplicate & mirror
element 36 resize 26%
element 15  resize 60% mirror
element 23 resize 60% duplicate, arrange the two on the left
element 35 resize 60% mirror, duplicate, drag to the left, rotate right 20
element 26, resize 40%

Copy and paste paper 1 just above the white background layer
apply your mask

crop and resize
add your copyright and credits as needed
add your text and save
